Five Star Hotel Award for Sedgefield on the Garden Route

Lakeside Lodge luxury hotel and spa has won a five star rating. This is the only five star-rated hotel in Sedgefield and is the highest award by the TGCSA (Tourism Grading Council of South Africa). The owners have fully refurbished this boutique hotel and the nine luxury bedroom suites, which is in a beautiful setting on the banks of the Swartvlei lake in Wilderness National Park.
The TGCSA grading is an independent quality assessment in an official ranking system, recognised around the world for the standard of services and facilities that guests can expect.
The five star award recognises the achievement of Lakeside Lodge’s owners Penny Streeter OBE and real estate developer Nick Rea. They set out to design a unique luxury holiday experience for short weekend or longer breaks and fine dining, with the hotel's nine meticulously designed suites, swimming pool, spa and water sports facilities.
There are three different room designs:

The Superior and Luxury Suites feature beautiful linen and king size beds, with luxurious pile carpets, complimentary toiletries, fluffy towels and bathrobes; all is softly illuminated by chandeliers. There are suites linked by adjoining doors too, which are ideal for family groups.
Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and flat screen TVs - whilst there is complimentary Wi-Fi, digital radio and an iPod docking station.
The Honeymoon Suite is for newlyweds - and for couples just planning a special break. There is a four-poster bed and spacious en suite bathroom with both a Jacuzzi spa bath and a walk-in shower.
The Benguela Brasserie and Restaurant has gained a reputation on the Garden Route for an imaginative and varied menu. There are wine tastings, food pairings and a host of special events to enjoy. The relaxed lakeside dining for breakfast and lunch changes, in the evening, to a more formal menu for the restaurant's fine cuisine. Excellent wines from the Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate are available in the restaurant.
The brasserie and restaurant are open seven days a week, from 8am- 9pm daily.
Lakeside Lodge on Swartvlei lake offers a range of facilities for lovers of watersports and the outdoors. There is a jetty and boat launching facility and non-motorised watersports - which includes sailing, stand-up paddling, windsurfing and kayaking. There is also fishing - and mountain bikes and a small boat are provided for the use of guests, with water-skiing, wakeboarding and sundowner cruisers available on request. Airport transfers and a chauffeur-driven minibus are provided by the hotel.
