You don’t have to clean the grill to enjoy a succulent spread of braai meat this Heritage Day.
Heritage Day which falls on a Thursday this year, is a South African public holiday that celebrates our rainbow nation’s diversity and that calls on South Africans to unite despite their differences. Nicknamed National Braai Day in 2005 as a result of a pointed media campaign lead by Jan Braai, the occasion traditionally sees families, friends and strangers unite over webers, drums and potjies.
Garden Route dwellers are invited to forego the tongs and smoky grill for a more relaxed afternoon filled with the foods we South Africans love so dearly: braai! That’s right, this Braai Day Lakeside Lodge & Spa will cook your meat just the way you like it and offer you a place to have a chilled-out day with friends and family.
Visitors can look forward to live music, a delicious lamb spit, roast chicken, balsamic onion and parmesan salad, roasted potatoes with baby onions and some rooster brood or garlic bread on the side. For dessert we will be serving everyone's old time favourite- chocolate sundae, bananna fritter and chocolate ice cream or a watermelon sorbet, almond biscuit and creme chantilly.
Local musician, Roy Taylor, will be entertaining visitors while our friendly staff take care of all your Braai Day needs. So, bring along your picnic blanket and prepare for an awesome mid- week break with Benguela Brasserie & Restaurant
Cost: This Braai Day meal starts from R160p/p (Mains) and R60 for dessert
